What a great place, quirky, great location, friendly helpful staff and lovely comfortable rooms, just wish we had been staying for more than one night. My only reason for deducting one star is there were no coffee making facilities in the rooms and whilst they have a coffee machine in reception there was no milk We would definitely stay here again though if visiting Zaandam again. What User doesn't like about Manzo's Bistro Zaandam:
(Stayed in Loft 3 for 1 night) Tl;dr romantic, but bring earplugs. Pros: room is beautiful perfect for a short romantic getaway. Large sunken bath felt luxurious. Room felt welcoming and well finished. Cons: AC isn’t great. Nightclub is *extremely* loud, music bumping people screaming until 5am. Windows offer 0 buffer (may as well be trying to sleep in the nightclub doorway). I could hear full conversations from bed. It should be stressed that I am not a light sleeper in the slightest so this is not faint criticism. Literally Bring Earplugs.
I arrived early and got a great seat on the patio on a gorgeous spring day. Service was very relaxed which seems to be normal for my experience in Holland. I ordered th e chic chic lunch special and it was very well prepared and presented. Thinly sliced chicken breast cooked perfectly dunked in a sweet chili sauce and served with greens and a remoukadeish sauce on a chunk of excellent toasted rye bread. The staff was fun and I had a very relaxing enjoyable lunch here.
The food is the only thing that is nice in this restaurant, the waiters/waitress are mostly not friendly. We've been served by 4 different waiters/waitresses that asked the same thing every 5 minutes (no follow up by the same waiter). the prices are pretty expensive for the quantity of food that is provided. fortunately the taste is good. Many dishes were not available on the menu anymore after a certain time. i do not recomend this restaurant at all.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, excellent local beer. Highly recommend! Would rate 5 stars, but I have never rated anything 5 stars
Good points: Looks great Near Zaandam Station Shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby Bars near hotel Staff seemed friendly Beautiful area Bad points: The room was freezing cold (despite having the heater on the entire stay) The noise from the bars was really loud Staff weren't present over the weekend No tea/coffee facilities in the room No smoking area Terrible internet signal The restaurant downstairs didn't have the best service We were never offered any advice, tips, or recommendations for the area Some bits in the room were broken (Had to fix the curtain) Shower pressure was bad (despite looking beautiful) Me and my partner booked a relaxing stay and ended up leaving stressed and looking forward to home. As stated there were plenty of good and bad points for this stay. I think there's lots of room for improvement; however, if you're looking for a basic stay I'm sure it would be sufficient, but if you're looking for luxury it's not for you.
