Made a stop here on a bike tour from Changhua to Sun Moon Lake, as there are few vegetarian options, and I wasn't sure about the closing hours of some of the places that do offer veggie food the lake. Got some fried rice and braised bean curd, which was satisfying. View all feedback.
It was our first night in Taiwan and the culture shock began to set in. I didn't speak mandarin, nor could I read chinese characters. I walked the streets confused as to what I could actually eat as a vegan. Luckily we spotted this vegetarian restaurant. The staff spoke very limited english, but it was just enough to place our orders and assure us which dishes were vegan and which vegetarian. When the plates of food were set in front of us, we were never happier to see a plant-based meal before us. The food was excellent and we had a great view of the street to really remind us that we were in a new country. They also have a special housemade hot sauce available behind the counter available for those who ask for it.
