Bottega Napa Valley - YOUNTVILLE

The short ribs were absolutely amazing—literally falling off the bone! The wine selection was excellent as well, especially the Aloft from Mondavi.

I've been to this restaurant before, but not at 3:45 PM, which is when they typically handle the shift change. Our waiter was fantastic; he remembered that we were celebrating my son's birthday based on the notes I had added to my Open Table reservation. I didn't even need to mention it again. My only question was...

The waiting staff was as courteous as the food was delicious, and the meal was truly delightful!

The food was very good and beautifully plated. The service had hiccups…..my wife received her glass of wine about 20mins before my glass of wine, no particular reason for it and no mention why. We had to ask to have our water glass refilled. A party of 6 with a reservation 15mins after us left 15-20 mins before us and they didn’t rush. Service was intermittent and sluggish. At the end a bread basket that we refused because we don’t eat bread was on the bill….it is written in small print on a menu page that there is a charge for it but the waiter should mention it. We didn’t ask, they brought it, we sent it away immediately and they still charged it. Also the bathrooms were filthy, overflowing garbage can at 930pm, toilet paper and Bottega hand towels on the floor. Women’s restroom was the same according to my wife. All in all it was fine but we wouldn’t return, there’s a disconnect with the value prop and it seems couples are left behind in favour of the larger groups.
