This was our first visit, and we opted for takeout, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The fries were the highlight of the meal, but everything else fell short. The packaging was strange and awkward, contributing to a lot of unnecessary waste. Most of the food was drenched in a strange fake butter mix. The snow crab legs had hardly any meat, and instead of keeping the garlic butter separate from the plain butter for the scallops, they mixed everything together in one bag. The potato and corn combo was peculiar too, seemingly trying to mimic a clam bake. While the mussels and a bit of crab were decent, the overall seafood lacked flavor. For a $100 meal, I certainly expected more than just good fries! For the same price, you can find much better seafood at places like Vernons, Cafe 422, or Station Square!
Terrible experience. The lobster was overcooked and had a rubbery texture, and it was so salty that I couldn't even enjoy the flavor. The menu was extremely confusing; the staff took ten minutes to explain how to make sense of it. You have to consult the menu, then look at a chalkboard on the wall, try to piece everything together, and hope you get it right. After the first five minutes of this bewildering introduction, I must admit I zoned out, but the waitress kept going. When I asked a question, she turned to my wife and said, “It’s a guy thing.” Since it was my 35th wedding anniversary, I bit my tongue. In summary, I suggest you take your $75, set it on fire, and then eat the ashes—you'd find more satisfaction in that!
Despite the poor experience, we tipped our server 18% because I felt sorry for her and understood that her job is tough. She kindly offered us complimentary desserts, but given that our dinner cost $82 before the tip, I expected a much better overall experience. To top it off, our checks were all incorrect as well. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.
I did enjoy their bread with cheese. My friends all ordered dishes to share, and three of them said they would never come back, although one really enjoyed their shrimp and scallops. We all felt that the food was overpriced considering what we received, and the long wait for our meals was quite frustrating. Our waitress was sweet but got four of our bills wrong. I might consider coming back for lunch, but the menu is limited. If you don't like fish, I would recommend not visiting this place.
They offer five different boil selections, and we appreciated that you can substitute items and just pay the difference. We chose lobster, crawfish, and scallops in a buttery garlic sauce with mild heat. Our boil was served in a bag and placed on a large platter for us. There was plenty of extra butter in the bag, perfect for dipping our seafood. They provided us with plastic gloves and bibs, and I highly recommend using the bib!
