I ca... read more I usually love Davidson's Tavern and eat here often. This time, I ordered a blackened chicken salad, but when I got home, the lettuce was slimy and wilted. I called them, and they told me to come pick up a replacement. I did, but when I got home again, the salad was brown, wilted, and slimy. I was so grossed out that I refused to eat it. I’ll definitely be avoiding ordering from here for a while. The photo I’m including is from the replacement salad, which unfortunately still had better quality lettuce than the first one. There was more lettuce than shown, but I didn’t want to dig through it any longer.

The menu is fantastic—I chose a club sandwich without tomatoes to suit my taste, and the fries were generous, reminding me of the plentiful servings at Idora Park. I enjoy my fries with vinegar and ketchup. My friends tried the sausage burger and the tuna melt from the menu, and both were thoroughly enjoyed. The atmosphere is a bit dim, fitting the usual bar vibe. If you visit Davidson's Tavern, don’t miss out on their spicy Bloody Mary!

We visited again last Thursday, our first time in over two years, and noticed the menu had changed—one of my favorite dishes was no longer available. I understand that things evolve, but while the prices have gone up significantly, the quality has unfortunately declined. I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon. It’s disappointing because this was one of the few places my husband actually enjoyed going to.
