The Old Bread Mill - York

In my opinion, this restaurant has the best bread in the area, along with tasty cold cuts and special, delicious homemade donuts that are only available on Saturdays and Sundays.

I spotted this restaurant while I was buying pasta at the shop next door, so I decided to go in. I was pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of baked goods.

We stopped for lunch and had a veal sandwich and shared a slice of pizza with a friend. The sandwich was delicious, a good portion size, and reasonably priced.

This place is dangerous, you have to walk past a wall of desserts to get to the lunch at the back, but if you can resist, the lunch special is amazing, I almost don't want to tell anyone, because they may run out by the time I get there. Meat, pasta and vegetable, huge portion but it's Italian, would you expect anything less?

I have been around the corner from these guys for over 20 years. My go to for bread pastry and deli . The boys are always around like hawks making sure hit goes the way it should. The ladies @ the deli counter are the best. All hand cut properly packaged, the best, they even sneak (legally) in real"Italian products the Mortedella is over the top good. The very best pasta, killer stuff from Italy . Oops grab an espresso on the way out you will be back
