A friend and I visited Tenon for the first time. The atmosphere was lovely. The service was good. It wasn't too crowded. The dishes were flavourful, colourful and creative. What User doesn't like about Tenon Vegetarian Cuisine:
I ordered a mixed roasted rice for takeover and the cost is $13.55 with taxes. I can hardly find a mushroom in it, just a few tiny pieces that need a magnifying glass to see it. You have a lot of MSG in it... because there was no fungal taste at all. I ate an expensive box of fried rice with MSG. Very bad practice! They make profit by cheating people. View all feedback.
This restaurant has the best vegetarian friendly sushi I have ever had in the GTA.We ordered the crab and cucumber sushi and what I like most about the sushi is that the pieces are bite sized, not too large like Zen Garden (who by the way I love as well)We started off with the miso soup and then sesame chicken, the fried fish fritters which are covered with house BBQ sauce, bean sprout salad and edamame lightly salted. Then the sushi and finished off with a couple scoops of the vanilla Japanese ice cream. The ice cream is the creamiest ice cream in town, the scoops are pretty tiny but believe me, you only need that little bit because you want to enjoy each bite and let the cream melt in your mouth. It hits all the right spots.I have been to this restaurant many many times and have never had a bad experience. The only thing I did not enjoy was the Hot Pot which I had last year other then that, everything else is amazing.Aside from the food, the owner/cook Tony is quite pleasant and he comes out if he can to greet you. If the restaurant is not overly busy he will come out with a new dish he has created and ask you for feedback. The restaurant has a nice cozy family feel to it.Price wise, it is a little expensive like most vegan restaurants but, won't break your wallet. However, because the food and service is above standard I don't mind paying a little more.Portions are a decent size, I always leave full and the portion sizes allow you to order some variety so that you can try various dishes. If you are ever in the area or if you are able to drive to Markham then I give this place my seal of approval.Happy Dining.

I love going to Tenon! Being a complete vegetarian who loves sushi. this is my go to restaurant. They're very friendly, service is fast. The food is always great. The best part is I can eat anything on their menu, which is quite large and interesting. They've made all kinds of unique vegetarian sushi options that you can't get anywhere else. I highly recommend the veggie fish, yummy crispy and their spicy crispy roll. I know a lot of people don't like "fake meat". My sister doesn't like the smell/taste and prefers to stay away from all of those types of things. But even she loves this. It doesn't taste weird or odd in any way! I really hope they keep getting business. It'd be really sad to see them shut down!
I tried to lunch buffet and was pleasantly surprised. It's not the normal buffet like where you find find the food spread out on the table. They have a pretty extensive buffet menu and you can select all you want to eat from it. Pretty reasonably priced and good quality food. Definitely worth a visit from time to time.Otherwise too their food is pretty.
Many reviews refer to the buffet which no longer exists, and some dishes are no longer available such as sesame chicken. Hot and sour soup, thin and not flavourful. Unagi sushi made from king mushroom expensive for 2 pieces but very tasty sauce and good texture. Thai crispy fish very light and crunchy, and king mushroom special roll good balance of ingredients. Best dish was General Tsao Chicken! The protein, broccoli and sauce were perfection!I look forward to trying other protein based dishes and the party trays
