Contribute FeedbackSecond Cup in Newmarket offers a mixed experience, with some customers reporting missing funds on their rewards cards and disappointing customer service. However, others have found the staff to be efficient, friendly, and the drinks to be well-made. The cafe boasts a pleasant atmosphere, free wifi, delicious treats, and a drive-through option. While some staff members may have less-than-ideal attitudes, overall, Second Cup provides a cozy and welcoming spot to meet up with friends or enjoy a quiet study session. The variety of offerings and Sunny's efforts to create a relaxing environment make it a popular choice in town.
On February 26, 2021, I left a cafe with a receipt showing a balance of $40.77 on my Rewards card. When I returned to the same cafe on March 6, the attendant informed me that my balance was only $0.77. They advised me to contact Second Cup's customer care center to report the missing funds. However, my experience with the customer care center has been disappointing. Despite sending an email with a copy of my $40.77 receipt and leaving three phone messages requesting a call back, I have received no response. I feel like I have been scammed out of $40.00. I would recommend avoiding this cafe.
A great place to study. Usually quiet. Staff try. Most are great but not all. One of the girls that says she has been there a long time seems to have had enough given her attitude towards customers. Other than her the rest seem to care.
Second Cup Newmarket is the perfect spot in town to meet up with a friend over coffee or tea, or to enjoy a cozy coffee date with your significant other. The owner, Sunny, has done an excellent job of cultivating a welcoming atmosphere that ensures a relaxing visit. The café also has a convenient drive-through option and a charming patio for those who prefer to soak up the sunshine.
I had a very negative experience at the local Second Cup recently. I ordered 2 small black iced coffees and 2 almond biscotti, only to be charged $12.52. I was surprised to see that the biscotti were $2.30 each and the iced coffees were $3.96 each, despite the small coffee being listed as $1.95 on the board. When I asked why the iced coffee was $2.01 more, the Manager explained that it was brewed differently, with ice in the carafe. I decided to cancel the iced coffees and instead asked for 2 hot black coffees at $1.95 each, along with 2 cups of ice cubes. The Manager seemed shocked and mentioned that no one had ever made such a request before. My advice to others is to pay close attention when making purchases.
It's Second Cup for the Coconut Cream FroCho ever since Starbucks deleted coconut from their offerings.
