By far the worse sushi place we ever had in Toronto. The restaurant have only 1 booster seat. Service was so so, but food quality and hygiene is what makes it terrible. The chilled noodle and orange were cut and prepared in an open area while flies are wandering. Sashimi have cooked shrimp in it (by definition it should be raw). I reviewed this restaurant in October 2014. At that time (and for the past 10 years) it had been my go-to Japanese restaurant in this neck of the woods. Authentic Japanese in a sea of wanna-be's! Oh how much has changed! I knew the quality & service had changed since new owners took over, but I thought I'd give it a couple of chances to get back in it's groove. Unfortunately that never happened. Tonight my family of 7 went for dinner and we were the only ones there - from 6pm to 8pm - no one else came in. Nothing we ordered tasted like what we were used to. The Katsus and Donburri's were not well cooked and looked a bit odd. The Tempura batter was flimsy and had a bad oil taste to it, even the appetizer noodles did not have their usual sesame flavour. The 9 pieces of Sushi appetizer just consisted of salmon and white fish with one piece of tuna. My daughter couldn't finish the salmon teriyaki bento box. The new management are not Japanese and like a lot of "Japanese" restaurants in the Markham area run by Chinese it doesn't give you the authentic Japanense tastes and style of this cuisine.

Vegetable Udon for $9.00 is overpriced to have nothing but bits of carrot, green pepper and union. Their tempura is nothing but some deep fried vegetable, its a disgrace to call it authentic Japanese food. Above or below tables are greasy and filthy. Only visit this restaurant if you have a high tolerance of poor quality of Japanese food.
This very small restaurant in a busy Chinese mall can be easily overlooked. Our family has patronized this restaurant for almost 10 years and the only complaint is that it can be a very long wait to get a table on busy weekend nights. The sushi is consistently fresh and their other menu items are all very well made. Our family of 7 went this Monday evening because 2 of my 3 kids had a sushi & tempura craving. Their menu was recently updated to include a "build your own Bento box". For $15.95 you get a choice of 2 sushi rolls (12 pieces in total), choice of a meat (teriyaki chicken or beef, tempura shrimp, katsu chicken or pork, bulgogi beef, etc...), and pre-set appetizers (tofu & dumplings), rice, salad, and miso soup. We also ordered 2 bowls of U-Don noodles in soup this evening. Service was quick and the waitress was pleasant. Definitely one of the better, authentic, Japanese restaurants in the Markham area.
The food at this restaurant is incredible and offers exceptional value for its price and quality. The space is a bit older and small, and may be in need of some renovations soon.
