Viet Thai is my favorite restaurant in York, and I've been going there for about 10 years. They offer delicious food and a wide variety of vegan options, as well as dishes that can be made vegan upon request. The fried tofu with peanut sauce is absolutely amazing. View all feedback.
What Bri M doesn't like about Viet Thai Cafe:
I’ve tried giving this place many chances but today was the last time I’d go here from the over salted/old broth pho they served me to sitting us near the back where worker are running in and out and near the bathrooms and when I tried to have us seated in a different area they said it was reserved. So out of all they tables they had up front they tried sitting us in the back it made me feel very uncomfortable it’s s... View all feedback.
I eat here frequently and have never had a bad meal! They will make any meal vegan upon request!
Viet Thai is my favorite restaurant in York, I have been going there for ~10 years. They have the best food and lots of vegan options or dishes that can be made vegan. The fried tofu with peanut sauce is amazing.
Let them know you are vegan and they are very accommodating. I love the Tofu Salad but you need to make sure they mark it vegan or it has fish sauce. Many dishes can be made vegan if not already vegan. Food is so fresh and delicious.
In my opinion, Viet Thai is the best restaurant in York! They have so many vegan options and are very affordable. The Kung Pao tofu, Massaman Curry, Som Tom salad and Lemongrass Soup are a few of my favorites. They 've been voted the Best Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant in York, as they 're very accommodating to vegans, have a vegan cook in the back and participate in York Vegan Restaurant Week. The staff are very friendly and most are long-term employees who will remember you and greet you with a warm Hi! How are you? when you arrive. The owners are very nice and typically always on site helping out and greeting customers. They have a sushi bar, which also has vegan options. It 's BYOB, but don 't worry, if you forget your booze, just stop into the liquor store a few businesses up from Viet Thai, located in the same strip in the shopping center. It can get busy at night, so if you can, make a reservation. They can handle large parties too, but you 'll definitely need a reservation for that. They also do a large take out business. Closed Sundays!
How is it no one is raving about this place?! Fantastic flavors, great portions, with very pleasant staff. FYI it’s BYOB, which I didn’t see mention of on website. Bring a bottle of your choice and give this restaurant a try, you will not be disappointed.
