The Whippet Inn - York

It is our first visit to york and we were not disappointed. my sohn has food allergies and other food problems associated with his Asperger syndrome, so eating out can be difficult. not only the personal was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but the eating was amazing. we had both rib-eye steak and lifted our eyes with the first mouth. the best steak we ever had, and the rest of the food was just as good. our waiter told us that the menu had recently been revised to be more mindful on allergies, vegans etc. well done. it has huge thumbs of us. It was also nice to know that we could eat in an adult environment!

Had dinner here on Sunday evening as a party of 8. they would us in the private dining room, which probably for the best we were quite loud! eating was just fantastic. our waiter was both about eating and about the wein expert and he was very funny. I think we all had a steak of such a kind and every teller was clean. a thing worth mentioning. no more. if she's more likely to tip, make sure they're getting a back up!

Excellent eating, beer, atmosphere and staff just a stone's throw from the heaving city centre. brilliant and worth a visit.

2nd visit and at the same table!! The service was second to none, the knowledge was top and the food was just the best! If u want a great steak, a lovely evening with the other half or a group of friends this is the place. Just the toptastic night!! Definitely would go back again and again. Had an amazing meal here last night for my birthday! Found it by chance after meeting a couple in York who recommended it, called to book the same day without realising the high demand, lucky for us there was a cancellation for the same night! Service and food were great, Katie was a great waitress and very accommodating and knowledgeable in all things steak! Probably the best steak we’ve had, no faults! Bartender knew about all things gin and what to pair it with, amazing rhubarb gin and ginger ale (or 4) Very glad that we found this for our last night in York! Highly recommended if I could give 10 stars I would!
