Contribute FeedbackDespite some disappointing food and management issues at The Punchbowl, there were positive experiences as well. A lack of gluten-free options was noted but the Wednesday Steak night offer with a delicious Nero D'Avolo wine was a hit. Service was a highlight, with friendly staff and a knowledgeable server enhancing the dining experience. Some cosmetic improvements were suggested for the decor, but outdoor seating was enjoyed on a beautiful day. Overall, while there were some drawbacks, there were also enjoyable moments that may entice diners to return for another try.
The guy who served us really made this pub. Outside is beautiful but inside really needs some work on it ie knocked paint work. Supervisor didnt say hello to us once. If the young guy on front of house wasnt there it woukdnt of been a revisit he defaintly needs a pay rise. Great for a outside drinks in the sun nice food but not in a rush to go back for food.
Booked for the Wednesday Steak night offer. Paid £3 extra for an excellent Sicilian red wine, Nero D'Avolo. which was an excellent accompaniment to the superb medium rare steaks. Friendly smiling service . Will definitely be going back to try the a la carte menu.
Our table was not set out when we were shown through to the dining room and had to be hastily rearranged whilst we stood there. The choice of starters wasn’t very good and in fact for me a coeliac there was only one. We decided not to bother with starters as the choice was so poor. I asked if gluten free bread was available and was told yes it was but it never arrived.
We booked a table for 7:15, we realised it was quite busy, but then had to wait one hour before the starters were served. The service was good, the staff really friendly and the food was beautiful.
Second visit was as good as the first.very good service and as usual very good food.we will be returning as will our friends for whom it was a first visit.
