We popped into the Plough after an impromptu visit to the area on a Saturday evening, with our dog. The bar was full but instead of turning us away, the landlord let us have a table in the restaurant regardless! The food was great- proper home cooked grub done well and great portions! Highlight of the evening was the landlord who served us… my brother is quite the character, but the landlord gave as good as he got an... View all feedback.

Pleasantly surprised to find this lovely pub open on a Monday evening (apparently during the school holidays) Camping for 2 night with 6yr and 2yr old grandsons and fancied a meal out. Accommodated easily dietary requirements met with no problem at all. Improvised corn on the cob skewers given to help the children eat them. The steak pie was superb according to hubby and my scampi was lovely. The boy's food was just right and all eaten the chicken strips proved a winner with 2yr old dairy/soya intolerant. They shared a vegan ice cream. Special mention goes to hostess Cerys who was so helpful and had a lovely personality. Also to chef Kirsty the fact that she personally came out with list of food ingredients was really appreciated. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly revisit.
With 2 sets of family visiting us and 2 coeliacs we needed somewhere with proper gluten free meals. Although we are fairly local this was our first visit , the pods out the back were ideal for 6 of us, great service from the staff and very good food including the sought-after gluten free fish and chips. We will return without our visitors next time.
Happened upon this place by mistake after overshooting our turn. Turned out to be a stroke of genius as we landed upon a proper find. Food was excellent, home cooked not run of the mill stuff and enjoyed a good pint in a great atmosphere. Here for a few days and will almost certainly be back. Landlord went down well with the other half as his impeccable manner was a refreshing change. Brilliant and highly recommended.
Honestly the best meal out we've had in years. Booked for a family birthday meal and requested a dining pod. Perfect for allowing the kids to enjoy themselves without worrying about keeping them on their seats! The owner is fantastic, friendly, upbeat and full of energy, but not overbearing. He strikes the perfect hosting balance! The waiting staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. Obviously quality ingredients expertly cooked with very generous portions. Not the cheapest but certainly not overpriced and, bearing in mind the quality of the food and service, I would say excellent value for money. Will definitely be back again soon and I cannot recommend this place enough.
Excellent food and service the landlord is a very hospitable gent and his good lady an excellent cook Its a small quircky village inn we all thourghly enjoyed our meal and so friendly nothing was a bother
