this has long been a popular caffe in york. but with the chef/owner guide there is a brilliant selection of meals that offer vegan and veg friendly taste. I am part of their Indian style meals, especially dhal and rice. View all feedback.

After we placed our order, the waitress mentioned that many of their sauces and mayos are vegan by default, so other dishes could potentially be made vegan as well. However, it wasn’t clear which ones. I believe they would likely accommodate special requests for something different if you asked, but I would prefer if their vegan options were clearly presented and described upfront.

Lovely friendly café with wonderful staff and great food
One of my favourite places in York, the food is always delicious, you can't beat illy coffee and most of all I love the sense of community the whole place has You can't beat it

Stunning. Truly excellent food, great value and a real sense of character and really friendly staff who are Good At What They Do. For example, I wasn't sure if it was table or counter service (it's table , so I asked (I'm dim that way sometimes. The next people through the door were passed that information straight away. Colour me impressed. I shall be back next time I'm in York. Pro tip: it's good, so it can be busy. If there's a queue outside, do yourself a favour and wait in it.
