Very nice and hot food, freshly prepared. Everyone at work commented how hot and fresh it was. Mmmm very tasty as the name suggests. Place looks a bit run down and not terribly inviting, but what take aways are? The food is what counts. View all feedback.
What Ellbowski doesn't like about Tasty House:
Bog standard takeaway-snotty rude fella couldn't give a toss about **** meal ordered before, been a few times, am local but won't go again, plenty better in York that deliver. View all feedback.
I went to order a meal, but it quickly became apparent that the rude man behind the counter was being aggressive. He started arguing with me within 10 seconds, shouting and swearing, dictating what I could and couldn't have. Even after managing to order close to what I wanted, he followed me out into the street, shouting abuse and threatening me face to face. As a 61 year old man, I didn't deserve this treatment. I demanded my money back and refused to take his food. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, truly threatening and frightening. I will never return to this restaurant, despite being a loyal customer for years. The service was simply horrible.
I never expected much from this small takeaway, but I was pleasantly surprised by the superb food. It was the best I've had in York, with generous portions and plenty of meats in the dishes. The flavors in all the dishes were amazing. The staff were friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. This is now my go-to spot for Chinese takeaway. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should. It's super yummy!
Rude man, won’t let you finish what you have to say he just talks over you, Ordered salt and pepper chicken and chips The chicken was over cooked and didn’t taste nice at all and the chips was like rubber

If you enjoy authentic homemade Chinese food, then you are in for a treat. I used to live on the same street for 16 years and this place is hard to beat. My favorite dish is the special Kung Pao with soft noodles and chips, which are delicious. Even though I now live a couple of miles away, I have tried other delivery Chinese restaurants, including Maxis which is twice the price and not as good in my opinion. The food here is always fresh and tasty, making it worth the short car drive. The sweet and sour Cantonese style dishes are also excellent and nothing else comes close. It's just a shame they don't deliver, but I suppose that's how they maintain such consistent quality.
