Starbucks - York

The Starbucks at York Vanguard is located in a large, modern complex and is very clean and well-maintained. While it may not be described as cozy, it is clear that it is not meant for patrons to stay for extended periods of time. The service was excellent and the coffee was delicious.

Massive store, very hardworking smiley staff who are always on the ball. Coffee always delicious. Always a good experience.

Visited at 9am on Saturday and were greeted immediately. Sean and Oscar were excellent at getting our egg bites and oatmeal plus great coffees. It was busy but they were exceptionally friendly and professional. Great service.

When we reached the counter, we ordered tea and cookies. The staff asked for our names to write on the cups, which I found odd since we only ordered tea. We received our drinks and cookies in bags, and were informed of the total. When my husband tried to pay with cash, he was abruptly told it was card only, even though there were no signs at the till indicating this. We took our drinks and found a high table to stand at. I went to the restroom and found it in a disgraceful state - water all over the floor and toilet paper and sanitizer for customers to use. When I returned, there were still no available tables. Seeing more people enter and sit at empty tables, we decided to take our drinks outside due to the increasing crowd. The tea was too milky and tasteless for my liking, so I left it on a table outside the Starbucks. The experience was so disappointing that I felt like I might as well have thrown away the £9 it cost us. Starbucks should consider having someone explain the proper procedures for customers to follow upon entering, rather than it being a free-for-all. I will not be returning to this location.
