Feedback
Mixed reviews: shoppers praise Red Chilli's vast grocery selection and friendly staff, while diners report uneven flavours, variable service and higher prices.
Super kind and friendly staff, great variety of products and they do same-day delivery for orders over £30!
If you love Chinese cooking its worth a visit, some things cheaper and others-not, huge selection!
One of my favourite supermarkets in York. They have a massive variety of produce and products at good prices, and the staff are always kind and helpful. Shopping here is always a delight, strongly recommended.
(Jul 2025, weekday) Huge selection compared to the Regency supermarket across the road
There is a really good range of products here and the prices are well shown (something I find can be scarce in many Asian supermarkets) The aisles were also very spacious and lots of fridge freezer options to pick from ! The workers are also very kind and made me feel very welcome. If i’m in the area I will definitely come back !!
FAQ
More information
Red Chilli functions first as a well-regarded Asian grocery hub — many regulars treat it as the place to hunt down hard-to-find ingredients. That dual role sometimes means the kitchen and shop are juggling orders simultaneously, which can explain the occasional variability in plated dishes during peak tourist evenings.
