Pizza Express River House - York

Wow, pizza. express works hard to bring vegans. next to many vegan options on the main menu, their “Vegan Menu” is pretty **** good, I must say. I expected a small A5 size menu with a few options nope. the vegan menu is almost as large as the main menu (see pictures) and offers an amazing. 21 vegan dishes with extra vegan toppings and vegan teig on the top. 2 appetiser, 5 starter, 2 salat, calzone, 5 romana pizzas, 5 classic pizzas and a delicious leggara (under 600 calories). the desserts are not so adventurous with only 3 vegan choices, but they are diverse. the child menu is also vegan friendly with the options to switch to vegan cheese. amazing for a big chain. Today I chose the “Sloppy Vegan” but changed it from a classic pizza to a romana pizza, as they are larger with thin crispy basic (see photo). it was huge and tasteful. next time I have the American jack. the restaurant is located right next to the river with a beautiful view. the two dining rooms are warm, bright, airy and oral. (see pictures) if there is a critique, it is that the tassen and teller are cold before the drink and the food is added. my double espresso was only warm because the size of the cold beaker in which it was poured. the pizza was hot at delivery, but a romana was warm and cold when I ate the last piece and I eat fast!

Really nice to see, chains put much more up in vegan menus beyond an option '. probably about 8 different pizzas plus pasta, calzone, salat etc. had the legara pizza, caramelized were very sweet and the spinach was beautiful, but crust burned and a little fat. find you quality very hit and miss in pizza express but grateful for options

This is pizza expression so they can not really expect a deluxe dining experience. However, I had a jackfruit vegan pizza that was pretty good. the type that showed us on our table managed to do this without talking to us and during a phone call. but other staff were friendly and helpful.

We went in to try their newly advertised jackfruit pizza, but it was sold out. Vegan giardinera was delicious. They allow you to sub the vegan mozzarella onto any pizza so loads of choice plus lots of veggie mains. Friendly and helpful staff, good prices and really nice building.
