We were staying in the York Pavilion and ate in Langton 's Brasserie/Restaurant on four nights three nights in the restaurant and we had a bar snack on the fourth night. The A La Carte menu was varied offering a choice of dishes and vegetarian options. The food was well cooked and well presented We both had the sirloin steak on one night and it was excellent actually had some flavour which isn 't always the case nowa... View all feedback.
What LisaStigre doesn't like about Langton's Brasserie:
The food here is nothing in paticular and when you see what you get, it's expencive. We had fish for maincourse and a dessert afterwards since there were so little on the maincourse plate. Since it's a place that many use for weddings they should be able to do better. Only a few of the staff was brilliant, sad to say. The sandwich with tuna that we had the day before the meal with friends were ok, but not more than y... View all feedback.
We booked Christmas meal for 6 on 20th Dec 22. We were given a room to ourselves which was nice , our waiter was good very friendly. The meal was the worst Christmas meal we had. Turkey fine, the vegetables were rock hard and the amount per person was terrible including 3 very hard runner beans , 5 Half Brussel sprouts too hard to put the fork in even waiter couldn't) and 2 pieces of another veg it appeared that who ever was in the kitchen had taken the portions out of the freezer and hadn't microwaved them long enough. The desserts were passible but not great , then we came to mince pies, pies is not the word one bite) we would use they were not much bigger than a fifty pence piece with a spread of filling no bits just a brown gel. The waiter was most apologetic and offered us free drinks but as there was 4 elderly and 2 drivers the drinks were 4 soft drinks and 1 half pint that didn't equal a lot of money. We paid £179.70 for these meals. I realise that the price also includes wages , heating etc but we have had many meals out and this is by far the worst.
Super place for lunch with a great selection of food served in excellent surroundings. The staff are very friendly and efficien.t
Had a nice relaxed meal here this evening. Went for the Salmon and Crab Terrine followed by the Slow braised Pork Belly both delicious. My partner had the tomato soup and the Gnocchi which were also lovely. Our server Nick was very friendly and attentive, a real asset to your restaurant.
Excellent for a short break close to the heart of York . Park at the hotel and take a bus stops right outside . Good food, comfy beds and excellent cheerful and courteous service what more do you need ?
We had a nice table by the French doors with views into the garden. Food was very good, prices reasonable. Friendly service.
