When it came time to order coffee, I was disappointed to find that they did not have skimmed or semi-skimmed milk available. This was a bit of a letdown for me, as I prefer those options. Overall, our experience was satisfactory, but with so many other great dining options in York, I'm not sure if we would choose to return to this restaurant in the future. View all feedback.
Made a large party booking (for 12) for a family birthday. We pre-ordered our food as requested and couldn't fault the level of service or the quality of the food. Portion sizes were fantastic, we ordered a range of starters, pasta dishes, steak, burgers and the seabass fillets plus desserts. Everything was served fresh and delicious. Will definitely visit again
Visited without reservation on a wet and cold day for lunch. Seated swiftly, prompt service. We both had the 2 course offer... Calamari and brie to start, mussels and lasagne for mains. Fresh, tasty and hot. Highly recommended.
Only gave 4 because the food was really nice but it was a very rushed experience. Were there with friends and we hadn’t seen each other to chat for ages. Our reservation was for 8pm and around 9.30 we were ordering dessert and my friend only wanted a coffee. We were told the coffee machine had been cleaned and switched off and we couldn’t have one. Absolutely ridiculous when there were still 5 tables occupied in the restaurant. The staff could not wait to get people out. Really spoiled the evening.

Lovely staff. Underwhelmed by food, both Brie starters undercooked, garlic mushrooms not very hot, asked to keep warm while other starters rectified, were brought back luke warm. Duck main course was sent back as over cooked, once returned no one checked again, duck and sauces were nice, Risotto nice but very hot in the centre other areas barely warm, meat was tender. Nice setting but style over substance, over priced for quality and standard of the food, downer on a birthday celebration
