Lunch date with hubby and what a delight. I ordered Henry's double decker chicken and bacon sandwich it was awesome and I didn't need the chips I was full. Service 10/10 prices fantastic especially for the location and food 10/10 thanks xx

Positive: building is over 400 years and restaurant has alot of character service is friendly and efficient roast beef was fine but nothing special, lacking the trimmings especially potatoes Apple pie and custard is recommended

We had breakfast on a Sunday morning. The building is beautiful and is what first caught our eye. The food was just as impressive and did not disappoint. We both ordered a big breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious! The staff were all friendly, polite and happy. We will definitely recommend and return when we're next in York!

I was with my partner on Tuesday and the meals were nothing like the pictures on here. The beef dinner would not have fit in a sandwich for 13 50 it was disgusting a tiny silver bowl with 3 roast tatties tablespoon peas and carrots and a gravy boat 2 thin slices beef and 1 pudding on plate.

Stopped in for a brew and a doughnut with the family. Nice brew. Girls had hot chocolate, and the missus had a latte with a doughnut. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. I took some photos of the building inside and out. This place has a lot of vibes....I loved it
