However, others found the prices reasonable and the staff friendly and accommodating, especially for those with dietary restrictions such as gluten-free options. Despite some negative reviews, there were positive mentions of the delicious food, quick service, and generous portions, making it a worthwhile spot to try when visiting York. It seems like the restaurant has some room for improvement in terms of consistency, cleanliness, and overall customer satisfaction.
Wow! Just wow! Dedicated GF Fritte, knowledgeable, friendly staff and the food . Portions are a good size, not greasy and my husband and 2 daughters (Muggles) were so enthusiastic about their meals (especially the Gravy). It is worth finding out when you visit York, take it or eat. If you are asked for a GF menu, they explain that every fish is gf as it has its own frit.
Huge plates of super delicious fish n chips. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Separate frit for GF
This restaurant cooks their food in beef dripping, so avoid if you are vegetarian or pescatarian.
I thought this was takeaway only, but there’s a whole seating area in back. I had the GF fish and chips and they were great. I didn’t have any reaction afterward. Even had GF vinegar, which I’ve never seen as an option at a fish and chips place yet. Server was very sweet with our kids. Service was a little slow, so if you’re in a hurry, get the takeaway. I would definitely go again.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about cross contamination. They have a separate fryer for the gluten free. Only gf fish and chips with gf vinegar available no other products.
