We visited back in December for lunch. The cafe is quite oldy worldy and poky which leads to its charm. I had one of the platters which was a bit like ploughmans. The food was lovely and the prices were reasonable. View all feedback. What Jessica H doesn't like about Chloes Of York:
Went there for lunch on Sat 27th Nov. The guy who served us had no real customer service skills, seemed quite moody. For £5.50 I ordered bacon and maple syrup pancakes, when it arrived it was 2 greasy rashers of bacon (no effort seemed to have been made to reduce the grease on it) slapped on 2 mini pancakes (that were laid half overlapping eachother) . We called in whilst visiting York, had a truly lovely latte and hot chocolate. If you’re passing by and want a coffee we would highly recommend!

read moreNestled in the heart of York, this quaint café offers a mix of delightful food and a cozy atmosphere. While many visitors rave about the tasty treats, including freshly baked scones and cakes, customer service experiences can vary significantly. Some diners report a lack of attentiveness from staff, with instances of wrong orders and slow service overshadowing the charm of the space. However, those who enjoy a leisurely break in a pleasant setting often find the café’s extensive menu and friendly ambiance worth the visit. Whether for breakfast, lunch, or a sweet treat, this spot remains a popular choice among locals and travelers alike.
Nice tea room, didn't have to wait long for a table. Just had a light bite. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The scone I had was definitely at least a day old. Apart from that, friendly staff, cute enough vibe, not expensive prices.
