For a Chinese restaurant, the fish and chips are exceptional—crispy and substantial. Plus, there's no delivery fee, which is a great bonus. I absolutely love it! View all feedback.
There was only 1 person in the load waiting for his order when I arrived, but after that there was a steady customer flow. my order of fish chips lasted about 15 minutes, as the meals are cooked to order. the shop is a typical Chinese type that takes away fast food output with an Asian menu with some English oriented. my fish was beautifully cooked and bigger than expected, as the chips I can recommend them.
I live across the road and the staff are really lovely and friendly. I don’t like Chinese food so can’t comment on that but a friend said her wonton soup was great. What I can comment on is the fish and chips. Wowwww the chips. They get them delivered from a farm whole proper mucky potatoes not bags of pre cut pre washed ones. They hand cut and fry them. Honestly the best chips I’ve ever had in my life. So fluffy and crispy. £2 portion could feed 4. The standard you get at a Michelin restaurant when they’d give you 5 single chips in a jenga pile. It’s a godsend they only take cash otherwise I’d eat them every day and be huge.
One of the best places in York for fish and chips, even better than some Chinese restaurants! The chips here are incredible! Whenever I try chips somewhere else, I always find myself comparing them to this place, and nothing else comes close. The staff is very friendly, and the service is always outstanding! Keep up the great work!
I only visit China Inn for their incredible chips. They are unbeatable in quality and probably the best I’ve ever had. The photo shows the chips served with ketchup, mayo, and fried wobble.
