What a place.We have walked passed this restaurant for years and never went in,dont know why not,but we wont walk past it again.Staff friendly,helpful and funny.One waiter in particular(think his name was Bosco)really made us feel welcome.The food was excellent.Will definitely be back View all feedback.

Awful experience. Having read the reviews of Akbar’s, I was quite excited to try out the restaurant in York. From entering the restaurant, it felt rather basic with oily/slippery floor tiles. The tables were bare, the waiting staff seemed inexperienced and certainly not courteous. When the food came, the pickle platter was served in takeaway plastic containers. That was one of the best curries I've ever had! The flavor was incredible—full of taste and richness. The portion sizes were very generous, making it an overall fantastic experience. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Akbar. The service was attentive, even though the restaurant was busy; they still managed to take the time to cater to us. The prices were quite reasonable. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you to the team at Akbar!
Incredible, as always! I’ve really missed these lavish meals. It’s even better than I remember. Everything was outstanding.
The restaurant is very busy, but the food is excellent. Parking might be a bit of an issue. The staff is friendly and attentive.
