Was John C at Hock Hwa a mag?
I was surprised to find such a nice restaurant in Yong Peng. Place does look like it had better days, but the food quality was good and price extremely reasonable. Most of the vegetable dishes were just RM 12. The mui choy kong bah was excellent , vegetables fresh and not over cooked. And most importantly, price very reasonable for the portions of dishes we ordered. Recommend this chinese restaurant the next time you... View all feedback.
What 2 (1 1 year ago on Google dislikes about Hock Hwa:
Had lunch at this place during our one day trip to JB… disappointing experience Most of the dishes were quite salty they tend to use dark soya sauce a lot so in terms of food presentation is boring (they dun really bother anyway)… lots of dark soya sauce (in big bottles) were stored in the toilet View all feedback.

I went for dinner on my way back from Malacca. Didn’t expect much from a small place but to my surprise the foods was delicious and extremely economical.
Very nice food, authentic fuzhou food. Strongly recommend

The cuisine felt like homemade dish, taste average. The restaurant has a specialty shop side by side selling local biscuits and pastries but the price is expensive.
Go if you enjoy having houseflies flying around your cutleries, food and drinks. So use your right hand to eat, left hand to fan off the houseflies
