I'm sure it's worth a look!

Very interesting quirky pub. strange choice of interior design, bar and bistro are nice, so many tables inside and outside, ideal for family functions or meetin... read more Very interesting quirky pub. strange choice of interior design, bar and bistro are nice, so many tables inside and outside, ideal for family functions or meetings. the outside area has an old Melbourne street that I found in a pub very cool. emigrated and was greeted by a waitress who took my table, then continued to sit and continue to drink her glass red wine, a bit strange, but sure it was a Friday night, ordered eating in the bar, barkeeper seemed rather grumpy and was very forward with talk asked what they want before I order. no friendly sharpener just to the point. Eating was excellent, $36 cooked for a porterhouse to perfection and it came to my table in about 10 minutes on a busy Friday night, chips and salat also well, with a generous part of each with creamy garlic butter, a real pub classic, perfection. the addition of a real steak knife was also a beautiful note. some pubs eat their steak with a butter knife. my only grip was the price for alcohol, I think it was $18 for a pint of melbourne bitter and $10 for a silooner of the same, far more than any pub in the city. all in all I will come back in the future, and would recommend to stop it, it is only from the autobahn and near ballarat and surrounds if they and the family are looking for a beautiful land-ec pub with a quirky modern touch and great eating, then they do not look further.

We just wanted a beer and wine which we could have in the public bar near the fire but when i saw the fire place in the dining room that was the place for us. The dining room was huge i loved the decor, outside garden would be wonderful in warmer weather. The sign read dining all day or you could order scones jam cream with coffee or tea. Cant comment on food but i am sure it would be delicious. We spent half hour there by the fire before heading home. Perfect thing to do on a winter saturday. Support Ausdie Pubs.
