This restaurant is the perfect choice for a meal. The grill closes around 7pm, but the food was delicious. However, if staying for more than one night, there aren't many options due to the limited menu. I am aware that there are currently issues with staffing and inventory. The service was excellent. that could not have inspired less if mike tyson had the lead in the nutcracker. my dinner was cold, not lukewarm. (but who wants to eat generous portions of lukewarm the last two nights of our stay we drove to gardiner, five miles, for a shot on better food. on a page note we had breakfast here, which was only buffet due to covid I guess. a small variety, but the same variety for all five days we were in the park.
This is the restaurant for Mammoth in Yellowstone. Stopped in for lunch with 90 mins before the SnowCoach left for Old Faithful. Tidy classical restaurant with Tables were well spaced out and, like all other NP facilities, masks are required. Food was Ok. Service was slow despite the fact we mentioned our timing. First items soups) arrived quickly but the final salad took forever. Had to rush the meal at the end.
Lovely atmosphere, nice staff. The food was good but we were expecting more (portion and flavor) for the price.
I have just returned from an adventure to see wolves in Yellowstone. It was exciting and exhausting. By the end of the day, an edible warm meal would have been a gift. My friend is a vegetarian and I eat just about everything. Between the two of us, the options were slim. Don’t get me wrong, the menu is fairly extensive. The problem is the preparation. For example, black bean chili sounded safe. It arrived dry and hard. Not dissimilar to what my dog eats. Gnocchi with veggies arrived with a little carrot piece. Fresh vegetables seem to be few and far between. I understand Covid has hit the staff hard. I don’t understand why they can’t perfect a few items that are solid. If they struggle with basic chicken and mashed potatoes, there is no reason they should be serving lobster fondue like they offered on New Year’s Eve.
Wonderful experience. Excellent service, good social distancing with tables spread apart . Food was amazing! Breakfast buffet wasn’t as good , but lunch and dinner was spot on!
