Description
**A Mixed Bag at The Ship: A Culinary Experience**
Nestled outside the hustle and bustle, The Ship offers a blend of charming atmosphere and hearty fare. Diners rave about the quality and presentation of the food, particularly the Sunday roast and chicken Parmesan. Yet, service issues linger, with some experiencing disengaged staff and inconsistent portion sizes. While many guests appreciate the welcoming ambiance and warm hospitality from the staff, notably the manager, frustrations arise over unresponsive communication and booking issues. Despite its drawbacks, many are eager to return, driven by the promise of good food and a pleasant dining experience.

Absolutely amazing! The home-cooked food is delicious, and the portion sizes are generous at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is personal and attentive. You won't be disappointed!
The menu has a fantastic variety, and the selection of side dishes is great too. I have to highlight the chips; they seem to be boiled three times, making them absolutely divine! The steak and ale pie is incredibly popular, and with good reason—it has such a unique flavor. If you want to try it, I recommend pre-ordering when you book your table. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, taking great care of their customers. The atmosphere feels very safe, with a spacious and clean dining area. They have safety measures in place, including hand sanitizer at the entrance and the option to order drinks directly to your table. It can be a bit chilly inside, so dress warmly, but it’s definitely worth it for the amazing food. I also want to mention the long-serving staff member who attended to us—what an absolute legend! He was the most kind, humble, and attentive person. He made our experience truly memorable, and we will miss him. Wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.
Fantastic service—extremely attentive and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for better! The ambiance is wonderful, and the food is excellent!

First visit here I got a four cheese Parmo and it was lovely! The haloumi squeaky cheese and other cheeses were lovely. The chips were some of the best I’ve tasted. The wife had a child’s Parmo and no moaning or denying of a child’s portion and said it’s fine. Some thing of a relief for if I bring my 16 year old daughter with autism and she wants a child’s meal as she’s very picky she normally gets denied even if we offer to pay more. So this place definitely gets the thumbs up and we’ll be back this time with the daughter and maybe the dog as they are also welcome. Great place keep up the good work!
