Daq Shack - Yankee Hill

We were really excited to try Daq Shack and I took a party of 4. Everyone had something different. Anyone who has visited the east coast has raved about Lobster Rolls and I was excited to try one. When I received the Lobster Roll and was REALLY disappointed. Looking at the photos on Google Reviews I DEFINITELY did not get what everyone else appears to have received. Very boring, plain, small portion, dry, no scallions and NO flavor. The chips on the side were also flavorless and instead of crispy homemade chips, I received dry, almost burnt disks of potato. I feel really jilted paying $22 for something that was so underwhelming and blah. Atmosphere was nice, wait staff was friendly but not attentive after eating my dry lobster roll and dry chips, I could have used a drink. At check out, I received three suggested tips none of which I felt anyone deserved. Everyone else somewhat enjoyed their meal but I left hungry and super disappointed.

It was alright. Pretty small menu. The atmosphere was upbeat, clean, and bright. The staff was friendly. The daiquiris though could have been served on the Las Vegas Strip both in price and quality.I had the Hot Chicken which at first I really loved. It was crispy, had good cheese, a good bun and toppings. However, the amount of salt in the sauce quickly had me second guessing my choice. I know hot chicken needs salt, but this made me start feeling ill.Speaking of salt, the curley fries had none at all. My wife's cheese curds were very good though.Lastly the 2 sauces we tried were lack luster. The Daq sauce made me think of sweet heat asian mixed with mayo. The jalapeno ranch was watery and I couldn't taste any jalapeno in it.Overall, the general public will like this place. It hits the right notes, but the discerning diner will be questioning their health choices and the cost of the menu while eating.

This place has lobster rolls and specialty daiquiris! Very tropical feel and the staff were great!

Can’t beat the happy hour half priced drinks. Very good. Lobster roll not bad for Midwest. Next time will try the chicken!
