Great menudo and barbacoa! Very clean restaurant with friendly staff. I do wish they offered Pozole and tortilla soup. Burgers and wings are really good as well.

This place goes by a different name now but it was freaking awesome! I’m on a diet currently and chose this place for my cheat day. I got the beef fajita burrito with beans and rice. Well worth it! The tortillas that came to the table were fresh and the salsa was quite good. It’s a little out of the way but well worth the drive. Heck, three weeks later and we’re still talking about it! ?UDATE: they have moved and changed their name! They are now in Hondo and called Mi Tierra Jalisco…I was there a couple of weeks ago and still DELICIOUS!!!

Family owned and operated great Mexican restaurant in Yancey. The food here is always fresh, delicious and hot. The staff here is always accommodating whether you walk in for lunch or dinner. Chips and salsa are served when you sit and are really good. They have a very wide variety on their menu. My favorite is #18! The enchiladas, rice, beans fajitas are delicious. They now serve beer margaritas. La Carreta has an excellent atmosphere with outdoor seating. If you're in the Yancey area and would like phenomenal Mexican food, stop in! You will be back.
