My family used to live up here and always bragged about how amazing it was so we made a detour for a quick lunch before heading home. They were absolutely right! Everything so was flavorful and i had never had fried wild king salmon. We tried the new England clam chowder, and we both would have preferred it to be a little thicker but that is just a personal preference. Nothing to do with the flavor or quality. For an... What Lexie Qiang doesn't like about Luna Sea Fish House:
Waited almost entire hour for food. The seafood platter only had two shrimps, two scallops and two pieces of fish. The fish tacos are mediocre. Service is also poor. View all feedback.
$68 for unimpressive semi-warm grilled seafood platter, overcooked grilled dry salmon sandwich and 2 sodas. No complaints about wait staff. They were understaffed, overworked and doing their best to accommodate some unhappy patrons. Maybe not expecting Sunday to be so busy? Available tables located in the parking lot do not make for a pleasant dining experience. Dirty environment. Overall, very underwhelming experience.
A+ Get a platter to share and a bowl of chowder to put on your eggs in the morning. Food is excellent.
4 people ordered food at the same time. Two of our group got their food in a reasonable time. The person who dropped the order off confirmed that ours was on the way. We waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile the three top that sat down after us got their food as did the two top. We waived down three wait staff asking where our food was because the two who had got their food were almost done. The responses were “I’ll check” never to see them again to “I just came on my shift so I have no idea”. Food was finally delivered, not at the same time of course. The manager? Jeremy said, I’ve got you and brought the last fish and chips, and wouldn’t talk about the horrible service. The waitress who just came on, dropped off the check with no compensation. I asked to speak to Jeremy who came over with the attitude of “we delivered your food, if you didn’t want it (45 minutes later) you should have told us. When I tried to tell him that we were expecting something, he turned on his heel and walked away. I caught him when we were leaving and said “If you had at least said I’m sorry, that would have been something.” The lack of comprehension was ridiculous. Never eat there!
Nice atmosphere, but ended up being a disappointing meal. Serving sizes are quite small, especially considering how (relatively) pricey the place is. I know good seafood is expensive but 2 small bites of halibut, 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 medium scallops should not cost almost 30 dollars. I was actually shocked when it arrived, at first thinking they had delivered the wrong order. The fries were poorly done, limp and just not well fried. The Cole Slaw was little more than just shredded cabbage, completely unseasoned and flavorless. Maybe we went on an off night, as it seems many people have enjoyed their experiences here. But I definitely won't be coming back or recommending to anyone else.
We were camping close to Yachats and ended up going to this restaurant twice because it was so good. We had the Manhattan clam chowder, which was rich and delicious. The second time we went, we had the fish tacos which were loaded with fresh delicious seafood, and fresh guacamole. Also had the halibut fish and chips, which was some of the best we have ever had. It is apparent that they use fresh fry oil. Large chunks of halibut, lightly battered and fried. Perfect combination of crispiness on the outside and juiciness on the inside. Big container of homemade tartar sauce on every table. Our server Jordan was attentive, friendly and took great care of us. We definitely plan to go back the next time we are in that area!
