Very nice cozy and friendly place with a very nice traditional menu. the sauces are local traditional and portions are great, as the tortia suppe is very tasty, so the red mol whun and the bark in mocajete (mörtel) is great enough for...3! the personal is super sweet, especially diana, which was very informatiw on all dishes.
I had truthahn with Molle sauce. it was surprisingly great. I should note that the cards said that the location was further down on the road. we had to trace a block to find him
We ate at chantico after a visit to a real chinampa tres marias ac: pedro aguilar in xochimilco. all dishes were cooked with fresh regional vegetables from the kinnampas. all were very fond of dinner with traditional recipes and our group German, Spanish, French and Mexican. we liked speciality the fresh lemmon water with chia. we recommend when they go that they ask for the recipes without too much chili if they do not eat spicy and care because the chili sauces can really be sharp! after eating, pinkrio, the owner, showed us how to prepare the flour in a metate and then who so wanted, had the opportunity to grind some maize seeds. pinkrio also spoke and showed us various plants of the region. the restaurant supports its work on sustainable development, they not only prepare regional dishes, but they use local and support groups that still practice the old technique of chinampa. in chantico they take care of the conservation, conservation and protection of the natural resources of xochimilco. If you want to visit xochimilco and eat in a traditional restaurant, I recommend you to think here. in chantico you will find the true traditions and secrets of the Mexican cuisine. we will certainly return at our next visit to xochimilco.
