Was Tomo at Chū Yǔ Wū a mag?
During Golden Week, I passed by a restaurant nearby and decided to order a bento box. Although I originally wanted to eat mountain vegetable soba inside the restaurant, it seemed quite crowded, so I decided to get a bento box due to time constraints. As expected, there was a long line when I went to pick up the bento box. The mountain vegetable bento box cost 4,400 yen for one person. It was filled with a variety of... View all feedback.

The hot soba broth filled with plenty of mountain vegetables and the flavorful soba noodles are a perfect match. The mountain vegetables change depending on the season, so I want to visit again at a different time. The "hatt" made by dissolving soba flour is eaten like suinton, but it is also delicious. The soba flour melted in the pot creates a thickened soba broth, which was delicious until the pot was empty. At the front desk of the inn, there were scones that looked like they could be sold at a stylish cafe, which we enjoyed on the way home in the car. I also want to go back to buy them again.

I read that writer Kenkichi Kusumoto enjoyed the mountain vegetable dishes at the Dewa-ya inn in Yamagata. I had never been interested in mountain vegetable dishes before, so I thought it might be nice to stay there once. Just as the moonlit bamboo shoots were being harvested, the dining table was filled with a variety of mountain vegetables and bamboo shoots that can be harvested abundantly from May. The amount of food was plentiful, and just when I was full, the Yamagata Koshihikari bamboo shoot rice appeared. The rice from Kanazawa and Kusatsu was also wonderfully delicious, but the rice at Dewa-ya was truly delicious to the point where I ate a lot. I had never been so glad to be born Japanese as I wanted to eat more, but I left it because I was full. I enjoyed it so much that I couldn't help imagining that Matsutake season would be great. Breakfast is also, of course, mountain vegetable dishes. However, for those who want to eat meat or fish, mountain vegetables alone may be too light and unsatisfying. Also, because it is an old inn, there are various difficulties for those who are used to foreign-owned hotels. The mountain vegetable soba for lunch seems to be famous, so it may be fine to just have soba without staying overnight. I am planning for the next time, maybe during the mushroom autumn season.

It was filled with a variety of mountain vegetables, each with a different seasoning, making it a very elaborate dish. It was a delicious bento box that was well worth the price. Next time, I definitely want to stay overnight and enjoy their cuisine.
