Old Nells - Wyre

We stopped in for a bite to eat, and all of our selections were delightful and freshly prepared. The drinks were also enjoyable. It was a bit strange to see the staff mostly wandering around in groups. However, we did have one wonderful waitress who collected our plates and checked in to see if everything was alright. We would definitely visit again.

It was a hit or miss experience once again. The staff were friendly when taking our orders for food and drinks. Unfortunately, the steak and kidney pudding did not contain any kidney, similar to my last visit. The chips served with the deep-fried fish pudding were disappointing; they seemed reheated and overly crispy, with some bits burnt around the edges. We mentioned this to the waitress, who kindly offered to bring us a fresh basket of chips for the four of us, but we didn't have the time to wait. I feel that the chips shouldn't have been served in that condition at all. While I understand that chips can sometimes lose their freshness, holding them for too long really detracts from the dining experience. On a positive note, the fish was fantastic and certainly the highlight of the meal.
