Not sure what was here before Zambrero, seems like every time I walk down Elliot St some new place is there and a couple of old ones are gone. Of course pleasantly surprised that a funky Mexican place has managed to sneak in, and I remember these guys from Britomart or somewhere. They are a fresher version of Mexicali done right and all the menu options looked good. I went for the healthy bowl and even though the chi... View all feedback.
My go to healthy place. I have been going here for the past year and it never failed me. Service-wise depends on who is at the counter but overall good. I always get the lamb classic bowl and I love it. This is still better than Pita Pit so I hope I see Zambrero more outside the city.
Competitively priced Mexican fast food place with fresh ingredients. Tried their Power Bowl with extra avocado and it was really filling and tasty and healthy. Next time around I wouldn't add the avocado as you get a very small dollop for extra $2. Otherwise totally worth a visit.
Finally made it to this place after recommendations... Delish Black Rice bowl which they even did half serve of the black rice as I'm trying to keep it low carb!(now that's service)Had it with the Chicken adobo which I fell in love with... Reminiscent of the real thing from the Philippines! Great healthy and tasty meal! Wish we had one in Newmarket!
Amazing tacos!!!! From the crunch to the meat it was perfect! Highly recommend getting two sauces as the garlic and basilio go very well together. I've been several times since.
Had grumblings about the portion of beans guac in my bowl until learning that Zambrero is like the Toms of fast food eateries. <br/ Like the shoe company, Zambrero donates a portion of its profits to humanitarian projects. <br/ Zambrero serves fast Mexican food with a humanitarian bent. The founder, who sounds like an incredible guy, has set up aid projects in Sri Lanka and is also a qualified medical professional. NBD. <br/ Maybe that 's why the food is quite health-conscious and has a Desi touch. <br/ 'Super food ' grains like amaranth and black rice are on offer. And the Secret BBQ sauce tastes like a deliciously tangy, spicy, South Asian chutney. <br/ I felt really good eating this lunch -reminded me that complaining how little guac there is in my burrito bowl is a #firstworldproblem.
