Went there on a Tue night and couldn't believe how busy and vibey it was. Amazing location right on the waterfront, incredible interior decor (especially the jungle-like bathrooms). The service was friendly and attentive and the food variety and taste was so divine. Would definitely go back there. View all feedback.
Food was fantastic. Yummy start with the popadoms and edamame beans. They came with stunning sauces to compliment the flavor. Dumplings were incredible. Always enjoy the Xialongbao when we come. Today was no exception. Soft shell crab was the favourite for the day. Flavors were delicous. Dined with vegetarian requirements for one of us. They were well catered for, especially enjoying the fried rice. Tried 2 of the desserts. Enjoyed the ice cream, didn't find the lemon dessert as enjoyable. Coctails and mocktails were enjoyable alongside our meals.
We are here one afternoon for a late arvo/early dinner. We got sat outside which I originally was skeptical of, but it was nice and right by the pier on the water and the sun was out and it was beautiful. A very busy restaurant! But somehow very quaint. For our early dinner we started with a Bang bang chicken salad which had incorporated chicken and peanut satay style flavours with zingy coriander and beautiful fresh lime. It was absolutely fantastic and delicious, I was originally against ordering a salad but I would definitely go out of my way to eat this again. We followed it up with a classic pork/prawn fried rice which was exactly what you'd expect but had a beautiful smoky/charcoal flavour to the rice which just elevated the dish to another level. With this we also had the char siu pork fillet, which to me is a requirement for any good Chinese meal and the flavour was beautiful and really well paired with its dipping sauce but also with the fried rice! We also had as an aside the Duck and Chive Xiao long bao. If you aren't familiar with these they are Chinese soup dumplings- that is a duck and chive mix immersed in a rich flavorful broth- inside a dumpling. My only concern is they are typically served with a flat bottomed soup spoon as you are supposed to bite them drink the soup, and then eat the dumpling. But hardly a complaint, as the flavor was so outstanding, such a rich umami flavor with the broth and the duck and chive was a good combination. We washed it all down with some ice cold wines and ciders and overall was an excellent afternoon for it's price. I would urge people to try this place when they come to the viaduct!
I celebrated my wife 's birthday with a dinner at White Wong’s Auckland Viaduct, and it was truly amazing. The food was outstanding. We tried the Kung Pao chicken, which was incredibly flavorful, with mouthwatering chicken. The shiitake mushroom money bags and the Prawn coriander crystal skin dumplings were exceptional appetizers. And to top it all off, the green curry chicken was hands down the best I 've ever had. We couldn 't have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommended! '
Ambience and service was particularly good here. Food the usual nice stuff from White and Wongs. Orders can take a long time. Arguably worth the wait. Better order some drinks first.
We went to White and Wongs recently to celebrate my birthday and the food is amazing. Variety of food options available and decent size portions. Service is good a little bit noisy otherwise it's a great place. I would definitely dine here again.
