This was a recent venue for a friend's farewell or birthday dinner, which of the two I can't remember. I do remember a big group of friends, a few bottles of wine and some tasty plates of food. A good night had by all. I had my regular Thai standard, chicken and cashew nuts. It was a pretty good one, some nice veges and a pretty tasty sauce. This is not the flashest place in the world but their food is good, prices reasonable and it's BYO which always helps. A good place for a group dinner or to start the night out.
I have been to Thai House a number of times, mainly for work dinners and catch ups, we always get the same good service and same good food. I really don't think I have had a bad experience, in fact they they all been a good experience and I suppose that is why I keep coming back of course. I always like to try something different each time and have had many good main dishes, the starters are also just as good. Its not a pumping or rowdy place, its somewhere where you can come to have a nice dinner for 2 or somewhere to meet a few friends for a great Thai meal.
Quality food with lots of vegetarian options, authentically made with pleasant service.
Went here with friends for a BYO dinner. Firstly, the service was non-existant, and it wasn't even busy. By the time they bothered to take our order (after having to ask twice) we had been seated over 40 minutes. At about the hour and fifteen minute mark we were finally served our food. I ordered the Lemongrass Prawn Salad, expecting a main sized salad meal. It was literally just a pile of prawns on about 4 leaves. More like an appetizer. At $25 it was just a ripoff and I was still hungry, but I wasn't prepared to pay the same price and wait for another small main. The other dishes ordered by my friends looked OK, but again really small portion sizes. They also don't give you your own rice to help yourself, rather scoop it for you from a big pot they walk around with and you pay per spoonful. I would give this no stars if I could, and I definitely wouldn't dine here again.
This is really the first Thai Restaurant I had been to. I had Thai food a bunch of times from takeaway places and food courts, and my experience with Thai food at these place was always positive, I kind of thought that a Thai restaurant would serve comparable food but in a nice environment. The food blew my puny little mind to smithereens. The chili chicken was a monumental taste explosion, and we also ordered one curry dish, I can't remember what it was called, it wasn't the standard yellow, green, or red, but let me assure you it was a total skull blower.
