Contribute Feedback What Dublin Ireland likes about Shamiana:
Food is always quite good and flavoursome. I think their best vegetarian dish would be the pea and potato curry. The samosas and onion pakoras are quite good too. Food is quite cheap. View all feedback.
What Frank Dohms doesn't like about Shamiana:
Finally I found Queen St's own version of a hole in the wall curry house : Most cities have one and each vie with each other for the title of dodgiest curry purveyor. However this is one you won't regret entering, very friendly staff, clean and well organised, lots of curries to choose from. Only complaints was sloppy presentation and a delay in getting my naan, but otherwise cheap, cheerful and convenient. View all feedback.
I had the Small curry, naan rice special. And I gotta say their Mild Butter Chicken pretty much tops it off. It's been a while since I had butter chicken, this was a great little reunion with one of my favourite Indian dishes.
Located on queen street, its one of the good restaurants in the CBD area. Have had the chicken tikka noodles and rogan josh with rice. Good quality and quantity, however, they should try to use less oil for the preparation. I always prefer take away as the seating area is small and is mostly full. The staff is from and helpful.
Butter chicken was lukewarm and discouraged to finish it. Not impressed. ..................................................................
Absolutely flipping AWFUL staff, awful service, awful environment!!! HORRIBLE I politely asked for no chicken to be in my butter chicken as I have been a strict vegetarian now due to religion and my adoration and love of animals. Last Saturday I walked in and the man i had kept putting chicken in, after my request. I politely kept asking for no chicken and I made a suggestion of putting spoon into the corner to sieve it out and he mucked around with me putting the spoon UPSIDE DOWNand SIDEWAYS and kept asking me of that was what I meant. The man then in turn refused my offer to explain further and said the other staff were busy in the kitchen when I could clearly see them just chatting around. I left embarrassed after being yelled at and told to never come back again. The staff member ended up making quite a scene with those words, and it topped off my already stressful enough day. Even though I had previously recommended this place for the quality and rice to friends and the convince I felt ashamed of doing so and that the standards here were awful. I will never ever EVER EVER EVER recommend again. Blumen awful service I was treated like a piece of garbage meat when I asked for no chicken. They wernt even busy and could have easily catered to my needs.
Shamiana is one of the few Indian eatery that I could recommend for you to visit on Queen St. The staffs are nice and friendly. Atmosphere is beautiful, though bit small, but you can enjoy your meal looking at people walking on Queen St.
