Was expecting a great feed after reading previous reviews however......the 'hand cut chips' were no where to be found and to be honest I've eaten better fish and chips.

Iconic in Altona. Step inside and experience the way fish and chips should be made. Hand cut daily, the chips are second to none, team that with the freshest fish and you are on your way to enjoying a taste sensation. Alex and his lovely wife have owned this shop for many years, the service is great and you are always greeted with a genuine smile. I would definitely recommend stopping in for some fresh food and friendly service.

Real chips, all freshly cooked, not frozen and happy friendly staff The batter was golden and crunchy What more could you ask for!

We have been visiting Alex's for 18 years (he opened in 1982 I believe). Alex and his wife are such lovely people, and the shop is very clean. I love the old fashioned orange laminate bench, and tiled floor. The fish is the best!

An icon of Altona. Hand cut potato chips cooked fresh, Nobody else does that. Fresh oil. Generous fish and crunchy batter. If it tastes too different you've probably got used to frozen rubbish. Amazing.
