View all feedback.
What Jennifer Eibl doesn't like about Alt Wyk:
Wir gehen nun schon seit einigen Jahren ins Alt Wyk und mit den neuen Besitzern hat es geschmacklich einen Sprung nach vorn gemacht. Auch sind die Besitzer selbst immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider haben wir immer wieder kleinere Diskussionen mit dem angestellten (alten) Personal welche wir schon von früher kennen. Bei dem Preisniveau muss der Kunde einfach König sein. So bleibt immer ein fader Beigeschmack. D... View all feedback.
Friendly reception. classic decor and spacious rooms. great portions. carefully prepared and beautifully presented dishes, although sad on the overcooked; so the pasta (ravioli) was far from al dente, and the wonderfully textured pieces of the child (sics) had a little too much warm. treatment next time we go for the fish. good local products. no burgundy on the wine list. not expensive for a Michelin star restaurant.
Some dishes were so delicious when we expect. Eating started with half an hour delay because restaurante was not ready to open at the time of the reservation (not big cache.) strange wanted to ask for drink, they offer a drink as an appetizer (church or similar) but we need to ask for other drinks. the appetizer was a piece of fish perfect over a bed of tweepers and a dish of a fresh watermelon (and pumpkin? not sure) easy and delicate. the first courses were a gurkensuppe with laughs, tasty, but not on the expected level and a classic look eating soup, simply perfect, probably best that I must live in my life (except one of my mother) the most important courses were miscelaneous, coq a delicate and classic, soft kartoffel mash that complements the delicate taste of the weines in the huhn. bark meat, right, with a kind of pulled ribs. high in taste, perhaps too much sauce and a huge presentation. half a lobster, well boiled, with vegetables in the exact point everyone, but with a tasteless spaghetti that has no meaning. the chef could make something better with this amazing lobster and perfect pleasure. ling filet, a soft fish properly cooked, with vegetables also perfectly cooked. nothing spectacular but nothing bad to say. desserts: lunch menu includes a soufflé about skybeers sauce. delicious. chocolate surprise: various chocolate ideas. all perfect.orange chocolate. soft soft chocolate, dark chocolate (easy,) good dessert coffee wyk, a few different chocolates as a dish in front, and a coffee glass, with amarettinis, an amaretto, ice cream, coffee, chocolate? delicious! place: the place is really nice, lighting and classic, decoration after the insole, and with a great shape. personal: correct service, not with a flowing English, but we appreciate the effort. they make their best to satisfy our time there, including a small dish for a baby that he enjoyed because also was good. kitchen table after service. Summary: classic restaurant, with classical oriented, usually worked in excellent. no risks take most plates, good product, simple elaborations and still not all perfect. we miss the surprise they expect in a first michelin. it is a perfect place in a perfect island with and almost perfect eating. And this is the only problem that everything was almost perfect, a step more and could be perfect, it is so close. a bit more risk compensate the customers. probably plates that we can not test yet improve my overall satisfaction. good place to go. if they are too fohr shall test this restaurant and do not forget the seafood soup! ps: price was good, about 60€ for person is the right price in this level of restaurants.
Old wyk is a star michelin rated restaurant in wyk, in the pedestrian zone near the coast. the restaurant is located in an old and charming building, and the interieur fits outward, beautiful, cozy and uplifted. it is in possession and by a friendly German couple. the menu has a menu with food from the à la carte menu. If you do not go for the set menu, note that the portions are not large and designed to feed them, a pornstar and dessert and leave the restaurant pleasantly filled. the kitchen can be referred to as demanding German. Luckily, the cook does not follow the latest fashion of food artery, but creates dishes with manageable complexity and a sharp focus on the taste. All we had was excellent and perfectly prepared, accompanied by very beautiful crying through the glass. the service is friendly and competent. prices can be expensive for foehr, but can be modest for a Michelin star restaurant and definitiw sufficient for the quality they receive. all in all we had a very pleasant evening. Although we are far from knowing all restaurants on foehr, we would be very surprised if there were a place on the island that can challenge old wyk when it comes to fine eating. highly recommended.
Old wyk is probably foehr's first gourmet restaurant. it is located in the center of the old city in a rustic old building (2 holiday houses available) that eat is excellent if expensive. the service is slow (1 1/4 hours to the main course.) if you get in a formal environment on foehr gourmet food, this is the place.
Delicious food, excellent wine, friendly service and a good feeling. It makes this place into something special. I can very highly recommend it.
