The Dashwood Arms - Wycombe

A British traveler stopped at this pub while journeying back from the Lake District. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was bustling, and the locals were welcoming. The food and beer were enjoyable, and I would recommend visiting this pub.

The restaurant is very welcoming with excellent food and staff. There is nothing negative to say about anything. The food is of good quality, served in large portions, and worth every penny.

After seeing the recommendation on Trip Advisor, I was a bit underwhelmed by the basic appearance of the restaurant when I arrived. I was initially worried that the lack of customers meant it might not be a good choice. Despite not finding the fish and chips on the menu as suggested, I opted for the chicken kebab instead. To my delight, it was delicious, and the accompanying salad was very fresh. The chips were also tasty, and there was a generous selection of sauces available. The beer (Smugglers) was also very enjoyable. The service was excellent, and overall I had a very satisfying lunch experience. I deducted one star only because some new chairs would improve the comfort level. Despite this, I still highly recommend this restaurant.

We had ribs which were really disappointing. They looked good but were dry and overcooked and served with sauce just poured over the top and sat on some really anaemic chips. Definitely not to be recommended.

Meat all on the tough and chewy side. American style dinner with large portions. Nice pub with friendly staff. We ordered two starters which came the same time as the main meals. I mentioned this to the young waitress and she said “ oh did you want them first” I always thought that’s when your starters came. Menu is fine but the food could be cooked to a far higher standard. Food all comes on top of paper which is just annoying and adds nothing to the presentation. Sadly another pub I won’t bother with again.
