I visited this restaurant for the first time and it definitely won't be my last. The food was delicious and the staff was exceptional. They were welcoming, warm, and funny. They even accommodated our vegan dietary preferences. #welovealan
My wife and I had a fantastic carvery at this restaurant today. It was truly one of the best roast dinners I've ever had!
This is the best pub I’ve been to in a long time. Julie and Alan and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. The minted lamb shank was so tasty as was the Cajun chicken. Just a shame we didn’t...get to try the Sunday roast! Great pub and definitely worth a visit
Again, a great Sunday lunch with our hosts Julie and Allan great atmosphere and staff were excellent. Looking forward to another visit soon
This was the first time we had been out to a restaurant in a year and a half and we had been recommended this place for Sunday lunches and we had a friend visit us from Wales so we decided to give the Chequers a...go. Well what can I say we had a warm welcome from the landlord and land lady, we had a good choice of seating nice and soft and really comfortable. The menu didn't have a great choice but it offered home made typical pub food. But typical in taste it wasn't home made pies home made cottage pie and beef and vegetarian lasagne with attention to detail on flavour as good as any fine dining restaurant I've ever visited. The portions were large, hot and beautifully cooked and seasoned. Finished off with some nice puddings sticky toffee puddings and rhubarb crumble not sure how home made the sticky toffee puddings were though. We are all looking forward to our next visit as soon as possible. And I would recomend this pub and restaurant without hesitation. for of us with two rounds of drinks. Great value for money.
