What User doesn't like about The White Hart:
beautiful place and sympathetic furnishings. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the Sunday dinner. I have specifically asked for certain sweets to which I have a disgust, not to be served. but they were still on my teller. they were removed on request. the cauliflower cheese was poor and I was served only 3 pretty hard brat potatoes. if I had not been saved by my wife's Yorkshire doll, I would have had hunger. My husband and I went to Sunday dinner yesterday. It is about a 1-hour drive from our house, but it is worth it. This was our 4th visit since we discovered it about a year ago, and we have never been disappointed by the service or the food. We both had the roast beef dinner, which was delicious. I had the profiterole for dessert, and it was heavenly, just melted in my mouth. Highly recommend. The staff always greets us warmly, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.
While the food was on the pricier side (three courses for £20), the quality of the service and the freshness of the ingredients justified the cost. The warm plates presented beautifully crafted dishes, and even the bread rolls with real butter were perfection – I enjoyed them so much that I even burned my finger (albeit gently). I highly recommend this restaurant. For my meal, I started with the ham and bacon terrine, followed by the fish pie, and ended with a delightful sticky toffee pudding and custard. Each dish was expertly prepared, making it a meal worth the money spent.
Don’t normally write reviews, however feel there is a need to give credit where due. We booked tickets for two of the festive events at this little gem, one being New Year’s Eve, the plated platter was delicious, live music and a disco until 12.30am , what a fantastic night it was so nice to see so many people enjoying themselves and made to feel so welcome at this family run pub, will definitely be back and may look to see what they do for valentines night.
We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. My husband ordered the rump steak and said it was so tender, it could have passed for filet steak. The butternut squash risotto was beautifully prepared and delicious. The service was attentive and the environment was clean. We also received a bonus by using our gourmet company card, which gave us a 2-for-1 deal on our meals. Although this restaurant is not local to us, we would definitely recommend it.
Food is simply gorgeous, the staff are so nice and helpful.
