China Flute Gourmet - Wurtulla

I have been eating at China flute for over 10 years, but it’s been awhile. I have only ever gotten the Mongolian Lamb. Tonight I bought it, took it home and had one bite of broccoli and immediately started to get a severe allergic reaction and ran to throw it up. I called the restaurant as it feels like my throat is closing up and ask have they changed their oil to satay, no, but now they have “always” used nuts in the Mongolian sauce! There was NO mention of this on their website and despite me saying I’m 7 months pregnant and having a severe allergic reaction their only response was “if you have allergies you shouldn’t eat here”. Pretty sure BY LAW you need to say whether food contains nuts because of how common allergies are. Thank god I didn’t have to be rushed to hospital and can only hope the baby is okay. Not even an offer of a refund or hope you’re okay! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Very disappointing, ordered 2x deluxe fried rice at $24 each! No flavour at all. Was told had chicken, BBQ pork and prawns. As you can see in photos.. not much in there but rice with zero flavour Also, didn’t realise that now a large container is the small container.. to get the usual large size container had to get the “extra large”. The young girl who served us was very lovely though, polite and well presented. Answered our questions when enquiring about the meals. Restaurant advertised AC with a sign on the window, unfortunately it must not be working as it was so hot we couldn’t even wait inside and chose to be out the front as it was cooler. Disappointing that we wasted $50 on two fried rices, I don’t mind spending money on good flavoursome food. Unfortunately this wasn’t.

Absolutely loved the food was delicious and fresh. We Ate in the restaurant and staff were lovely to myself and my family. We usually eat it by getting Uber but we have decided from now on to go to the restaurant. Food definitely tasted better!! Ive dined in China Flute before, and then, the food was getting consistently worse over time. But yesterday, I gave it another go, and damn it was better. I ordered a simple special fried rice and black bean on a hot plate, and it did not disappoint. The fried rice was golden in colour, and delightful in taste, given a generous amount of ingredients. Comparing to all the times i've been here before, the beef in my Black Bean was far more fresh and tender, which was also seasoned just right. As I left, the owner along with the chef who I dont recognised nicely thanked me for coming, which I definitely will again.
