Description

This local eatery has garnered a spectrum of reviews, reflecting both commendable and concerning aspects. While many patrons praise the friendly and attentive staff, consistent complaints about inadequate service and food temperature abound. Diners noted rude interactions, particularly during peak hours, leading to frustration over unserved orders and cold meals. However, several families and regulars expressed appreciation for the generous portions and value for money in their pub-style offerings. Overall, the restaurant holds potential with its welcoming atmosphere and appealing menu, but improvements in service efficiency and staff demeanor are essential for a consistently enjoyable dining experience.

The venue is stunning, but it seriously lacks ambiance! The staff appears to be unsure about how to create a welcoming atmosphere—it’s evident that this isn’t their own place. Last night, an amazing band called Flash Company was entertaining the guests, which was a highlight. However, just before 11 p.m., a staff member abruptly turned off the Christmas tree lights right in the middle of a song! To make matters worse, when I was charged £9 for an orange juice, it took two staff members a few minutes to realize that one of them had accidentally pressed the wrong button. To the management, please take this feedback into consideration!

I visited this restaurant on a summer Friday evening with my family, including my young toddler. The outdoor space looked great, featuring a children's play area surrounded by a lawn and tables where we could eat or enjoy a drink while watching the kids. I was really excited to have found this place—until the food arrived. The battered fish was dry, the chips were cold, and the other meals my family ordered weren't much better. To make matters worse, it took 30 minutes for our dessert to arrive, and we had only ordered a few scoops of ice cream! I won't be coming back anytime soon for a meal.

I've been visiting this restaurant intermittently for around six years, although I haven't been there recently. In the past, it provided exceptional food and service at very reasonable prices. My wife recently dined there with some colleagues and mentioned that it’s just as good as it used to be, still well-managed by Sue. As part of the Sizzling Pubs chain, the restaurant mainly offers quick pub food, so don’t expect a fine dining experience. I'll elaborate on that shortly.

The food is delicious, particularly the Sunday roast, and the prices are quite reasonable. Highly recommend!

The restaurant's offer of a 33% discount for blue light workers was not honored, despite the promotion being advertised until the end of January. The manager showed a dismissive attitude and did not seem concerned about the issue. This lack of concern is not acceptable.
