Located within the renowned Mailbox shopping centre, Zizzi Mailbox is a one-of-a-kind dining destination. The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the refurbishment of the Royal Mail's main sorting office, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. A deep red pizza oven adds a pop of color to the space, enhancing the overall experience. Zizzi Mailbox offers two main dining areas, each with its own distinct ambiance. The raised floor area is perfect for large groups and features eye-catching light fixtures for a fun and lively atmosphere. On the other hand, the lower area provides a more relaxed setting, with a view of the canal and outdoor surroundings. Vintage mail sorting boxes adorn the walls, while a stunning mural by artist Richard Sanderson depicts peaceful canal boats navigating the river.

Despite a few positive notes such as accommodating a late arrival and quick service, overall, reviews for the restaurant were disappointing. Multiple customers had issues with bookings not being found, poor service from staff, and bland food. Cocktails were watered down, potatoes tasted odd, and meat dishes did not meet expectations. One customer even had a distressing experience with a waiter who was unhelpful and insensitive. While the location overlooking a canal was nice, the lack of engagement from management and unprofessional behavior from some staff left a lot to be desired.
Italian cuisine is one of my favorites, although I tend to get full quickly when eating it. Nevertheless, I truly enjoy it.
The restaurant offers a fantastic range of dishes, with lovely decor and excellent service. I would certainly come back again. Our food arrived quickly and was served hot. The atmosphere was also really enjoyable.
We visited on a peaceful Friday afternoon and were promptly served by attentive staff.
First proper meal in 2 weeks
Food is delicious and I would definitely come back and recommend the restaurant to friends.
