A terrific Seniors Centre with numerable programmes available. Dancing, singing, exercising, knitting, euchre and various other card games, shuffleboard, Suzuki Silver Chimes, yoga and history classes. Then there is the full lunch available Tuesday to Friday with Monday being soup and sandwich day. There is a lending library. And best of all is the social life - a terrific way to meet the people in town especially when you yourself are new to town. There are major events too -- a classic car cruise, garage sale, plant sale in the spring, craft sale, health fair -- so much to do, so little time!
The cafe at the South Gate Centre is a hidden gem offering the best lunches, Mon-Fri., for a mere $7-9. The secret weapon in this delicious lunch stop is the kitchen manager and cook, Patrick, who buys local and keeps his menu seasonal. Monthly menus are online at the centre's website. Have never been disappointed when eating here.

There is no tax or tipping required, and the prices are unbeatable. Be sure to try the liver and onions, fish, or chicken lasagna - you won't be disappointed.
The food is excellent, made in-house and not found anywhere else. The staff is friendly and sociable, always keeping guests entertained. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming.
