After picking this restaurant on tripadvisor, we found it just down the street from a number of chain restaurants. We were warmly welcomed by the only person working the tables that evening and the chef came to our table during our meal. Food was fresh and delicious and authentically italian, with oilive oil and garlic and herbs. Not everything was served at the same time- probably because the chef was working alone... This is a restaurant to has big flavour, white glove customer care and flexibility in meeting your personal food pleasures. It's open, inviting and the owner makes it a point of ensuring as his guests you are well taken care of and values you feedback. This is why we are going back and introducing our friends to this hidden gem.
We came here October 2nd to celebrate my grandmothers 80th birthday and we reserved the whole restaurant. We were about 40 people and the set up was very nice.At the beginning of our meal, we were given wine which was refilled without question (as it should be, since we paid for the unlimited wine package). After dinner, our wine glasses got taken away without question. When we asked for more wine, the owner told us that wine was for dinner and dinner was over. It all went down hill from here. After our plates were cleared, the waiters never came back to our tables, refilling the empty waters or asking if we needed anything. They were all behind the bar or in the back cleaning up. The guys all went to get coffee at the bar, and so I asked my boyfriend to order me an Americano. The owner told my boyfriend that this wasn't Starbucks. (An Americano is just an espresso with hot water, for those of you who do not know.)Afterwards, the cake and fruit were out. The fruit platter was sitting on the table with napkins beside it. When my cousin asked the owner for plates and forks, he told him to use the napkins on the table. I'm pretty sure my dog eats out of a plate so why would we be any different? Eating fruit off a napkin? Seriously?!Joking or not, we felt completely rushed to leave and the overall experience was negative and although this was my first time coming to the restaurant, I would never return and I wouldn't recommend it either. The food was great but the service was absolutely horrible. There are so many great Italian restaurants in the area, you'll be much happier going there!
I have a few restaurants that I frequent, but it was Saturday night and I was craving for a new food experience. A few of my friends recommended Spinello, so I decided to give it a try. When I called I was greeted by a friendly Hostess that reserved my table. As we arrived, we were given several seating options, and quickly seated. Some warm focaccia quickly appeared on the table, with oil, balsamic and some hot stuff. The waitress recommended the specials. I ordered the fettuccini with Lamb ragu that I was sharing with my special friend, and two trout filets served with vegetables. The pasta was very tasty. The trout was fresh and delicious, as were the rapini and peppers. The service was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The owners were cooking and serving, and they took special care of all of their customers. This is a great place for large groups or special occasions. They even have a private area upstairs. I really enjoyed the evening. The home made tiramisu was fabulous. I definitely will come back and recommend that you try this place.
We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Although the restaurant was not very busy at this time of day, Frank (the owner) made our experience a great one. Frank and his staff really know how to take care of customers. Frank and his staff have an incredible selection of choices to choose from daily. The person who we were dining with said "you don't even need a menu, you just tell Frank how you feel that day and he will bring you what you need". I can tell you that he is truly right! There are so many selections from beef to fish and chicken, light or heavy or just simple pasta done your way. Frank and his staff are truly hosts that make you want to come back again and again. I will bring some of my best friends and customers to meet Frank.
Eight of us went in for dinner. Very nice place, very open! The meal, from the bread, to my salad and to the homemade ravioli, was some of the best Italian food I ever had. Decent sized portions as well. Did not leave hungry. My only concern, the cost, especially for the salad, was high! Only visiting the area, so it was a nice treat.
