We had lunch at Baton Rouge two days ago. We were the first people to sit down on the patio, although there were many inside. The staff were great like usual and all measures for Covid-19 were taken. Ten minutes after we came several other...couples did so as well. I had my usual at lunch the Louisiana Chicken with buns and my wife had the sirloin steak. Both were excellent! What Indira Ganguly doesn't like about Baton Rouge Restaurant:
Went here for an early mother's day dinner with my grown son.I ordered the Steak Oscar which comes with lobster tail instead of the traditional crab meat. I asked for a glass of Malbec with my meal.Salads were fine and the dinners looked great when they arrived. I waited for my wine and finally started to eat so it wouldn't get cold. I had to ask for my wine to be brought. The steak was the worse cut - so full of fat... View all feedback.
Best ribs, quick service the kids love their fries and portions, clean atmosphere and nice wait staff
I had the unfortunate displeasure of visiting Baton Rouge last week. We were there for my son's birthday, and we were just 5 of us. It was mid-week and the place was quiet. The waiter was openly new (2nd shift,) and although was friendly and courteous, forgot to put our order through, and so we had to wait an hour for the food. The waiter owned up to his mistake, and fine, with a strong finish, maybe the evening can be saved. But then, some of the meals were incorrect, and all of our meals were over cooked and too well done. Even the french fries were extra golden (and dry/crunchy.) Well we're not going to send it back now, we're starving, we waited an hour, we had other plans that night, so we ate and complained some more. The waiter apologized again - although overcooked food is not his fault. But the meal was definitely ruined. The waiter offered us free dessert (big deal, 2 hours later, dinner is ruined,) and in the end, the manager NEVER came by. So we left very disappointed! Going out with the family is a special occasion - even more so - for a child's birthday. Where he could have picked any restaurant in the entire city - but he chose Baton Rouge, because that was his favourite, and it was one of ours too. But not anymore. Easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences ever, and as good as the ribs, steak and burgers (usually) are, I can't fathom ever going back - because my time and money are better spent elsewhere.
Great night out with great food. Never could go wrong at Baton Rouge with my favorite salad and my husband's favorite menu. The service is great, they greet us and serve us with a smile. Looking forward to the patio.
I only come to this place once a month and it's for a full rack rib dinner with curly fries which are the best I've had in a while. Good atmosphere and servants here to serve you. Reservations accepted. All other food is very good. Great desserts menu.
As I said very much like a Keg or Canyon Creek but with a Louisiana flair. The prices were a bit better than both of those but servings and menu are very similar. I enjoyed the potatoe soup very much and filet mignon was good. I did not like the baked beans because I found them to be hard and crunchy which is not how I like them. It was my first time but I would go back for sure.
